Not all silk is created equal. Many pillowcases are a lower momme, or a synthetic blend. Ours is 100% pure 22 momme, grade 6A mulberry silk, OEKO TEX Standard 100 certified, and coloured with only gentle dyes.

6A is the highest grade of long fibre mulberry silk. Fewer joins, a smoother surface, a stronger cloth. That is our silk. Not a shorter fibre sold as the same thing.

Momme is a traditional Japanese measure of how densely silk is woven. A 22 momme pillowcase, like ours, holds a fifth more silk in every inch than a 19 momme one. A smoother feel, and a cloth that lasts.

22 momme silk is thicker, smoother, and more lasting than lower weights like 19 momme. It feels more luxurious, and it holds up to regular cool washes.

Blends and coatings are not the same cloth. Many pillowcases use a lower momme silk or a synthetic mix, which cannot do the same for hair and skin. We use 100% mulberry silk. The protein is the point. Naturally kind, breathable, and gentler on hair and skin.

Silk is a natural fibre. Satin is usually a synthetic weave. Only pure silk is naturally kind to sensitive skin, breathable, and gentle on hair. It keeps you cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Satin cannot offer the same. More on our benefits of silk page.

Yes. Our silk is OEKO TEX Standard 100 certified, so it is tested for harmful substances. Mulberry silk is naturally hypoallergenic and feels kind against the skin, which is why so many people with sensitive skin choose it overnight.

Our pillowcases are happy in the machine. Turn inside out, slip into a delicates bag, and wash on a cool, gentle cycle below 30°C with a pH neutral or silk safe detergent. No bleach, fabric softener, or anything harsh.

Yes. Turn it inside out and iron on a cool, low heat.

No. Let pillowcases dry flat on a laundry stand, and hang scrunchies and masks, away from direct heat.

A pH neutral or silk safe detergent. Never fabric softener or bleach.

A cool hand wash below 30°C, silk safe detergent, and a gentle swish. No twisting or wringing. Hang to dry away from heat.

A vinegar rinse. Cool water, one tablespoon of white vinegar per litre, rest it there for 3 to 5 minutes, then dry flat in the shade.
