WHY SILK WORKS?
Not all silk pillowcases are made the same and silk products with a lower momme or weight do not carry the same health benefits when it comes to looking after your hair and skin. All of the products at Silk Works are produced with 22 momme high grade 6A 100% mulberry silk and adhere to strict quality guidelines which include the use of non-toxic dyes whilst being OEKO-TEX® standard 100 certified.

HOW DO I WASH MY SILK WORKS?
The high grade quality silk used in our Silk Works products means that our pillowcases are machine washable. We recommend washing inside out on a cold wash or with a maximum temperature of 30 degrees. Be sure to use a PH neutral detergent and keep away from harsh chemicals including bleach. For more information on how to wash your silk check out our Care Page.
CAN I IRON MY SILK WORKS PILLOWCASE?
Yes all of our silk pillowcases can be ironed however be sure to turn inside out beforehand and ensure you iron on a low temperature setting.
WHAT IS MOMME OR MM?
Momme is a Japanese form of weight measurement and is used when describing the quality of pure silk. Momme of 19 or lower is considered lightweight so watch out for this when looking for a high quality silk product. A 22mm pillowcase has 20% more silk per square inch that a 19mm pillowcase does. Due to this higher weight and therefore quality it’s estimated that Silk Works pillowcases have almost double the life of others across the market.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR SHIPPING?
We are currently offering free UK shipping on all orders for a limited time only. International costs may vary, to find out more visit our Shipping page for further details.
WHAT SIZE IS A SILK WORKS LONDON PILLOWCASE?
All of our Silk Works pillowcases are international standard sizing which means that they fit most pillowcases world wide. Exact measurements are 51cm x 71cm (queen) 51cm x 92cm (king) and 40cm x 60cm (kids).
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SATIN AND SILK PILLOWCASE?
Whereas silk is a natural fibre, satin is a man-made type of weave and it’s important not to confuse the two. The advantages of silk over satin pillowcases are that they are naturally hypoallergenic, naturally inhospitable to dust mites and mold, breathable and temperature regulating. For more information on the advantages of sleeping on silk check out our benefits page.
